Introduction
Project details
In collaboration with StoryTourist, I wrote an interactive guided audio tour taking place in Visby, Sweden.
The app utilizes GPS and maps to keep track of player's progress, stopping at certain points for moments of gameplay, often including light puzzle solving.
The tour premiered in June, 2022.

PRODUCTION

Writing & Editing
The whole manuscript, including instructions, cues, etc. was written and assembled by me. StoryTourist's editor gave me regular feedback, and I iterated from there.

Gameplay including assemblance of a torn document.

Players can pick up objects for a closer look, receiving comments on voice over from their guide.

Research
All research for the tour was done by me and then communicated to the StoryTourist team (art references, etc.)
Research included:
-
maps & plot lists
-
parish registers
-
court records
-
books (folklore, medicine, history)
-
interviews (e.g. Uppsala University's guide Mikael Norrby and Ulf Palmenfelt, Cultural anthropology and ethology dep.)
-
Etc.

Gameplay
Each stop on the tour includes an interactive moment for players to partake in.
It was important to me that these moments made the player feel like they were the driving force behind the story's progression.
Examples of gameplay:
- find + compare objects
- compare pictures
- puzzles
- answer questions (interrogation)
- listen + compare voice cues
